Wales’ all-time record try scorer Shane Williams has backed George North to re-find his best form ahead of their match against Scotland this weekend.

North is currently struggling to find his way across the line with just five tries in his last 16 Tests for Wales. He is currently on a run of no tries in five games but Williams says the Northampton winger must work through this barren spell.

“It happens to every player…he has got to work hard for it,” Williams told the BBC. “He has not become a poor player. I have been there myself and we probably have not seen the best of George yet anyway.

“Sometimes you do get frustrated but it is a sign of a player, how he overcomes that and continues to chip at it.”
